Prepare to be inspired by Bel Williamson, our extraordinary Studio Principal at Northside School of Dance. Bel has over 40 years of dance experience and brings an incredible depth of knowledge and expertise to our vibrant dance community.

Bel's dance journey began at the tender age of 3, where she immersed herself in the world of Ballet, Jazz, and Tap. With unwavering dedication and a relentless pursuit of excellence, she completed exams in all dance genres, achieving outstanding results.

Bel's qualifications speak for themselves. She holds her CSTD Modern Jazz Teachers diploma and is a full member of the CSTD. But it doesn't stop there! Bel also holds a BA in Business, specializing in IT and marketing. This unique blend of artistic and business acumen allows Bel to approach dance education with an innovative and holistic perspective.

To enrich her teaching and stay on the cutting edge of dance education, Bel ventured to New York in 2011 and 2012, attending an intensive teacher workshop led by the prestigious Broadway Dance Centre. This certified course broadened her knowledge across all dance genres and equipped her with fresh choreography and techniques to bring back to our Northside Dance students.

Bel's deep connection to the local community is rooted in her upbringing in Clayfield and her time at Clayfield College. She understands the unique needs and demands of children in our area and is passionate about providing a fun and nurturing environment where students of all ages can learn the discipline of dance.

But above all, Bel's genuine aim is to ignite her students with her own boundless passion, energy, and enthusiasm for dance. She led by example, instilling a love for the art form that goes far beyond just the steps. Bel nurtures each student, guiding them to unlock their full potential and empowering them to shine both on and off the dance floor.

At Northside School of Dance, we are incredibly fortunate to have Bel as our Studio Principal. Her wealth of experience, unwavering commitment, and caring nature are the driving forces behind our warm and supportive dance family. Meet Marc, our incredible studio manager at Northside School of Dance. With over 25 years of dance experience and an impressive performance background, Marc brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to our dance family.

From his outstanding performances with renowned ballet companies like Qld Ballet, Australian Ballet, and Ballet Theatre Qld, to captivating audiences at Disneyland and Universal Studios, Marc's talent shines on the biggest stages. His dedication and excellence have also been recognized through exceptional results in exams for the RAD and CSTD dance syllabus.

But Marc's qualifications extend beyond his remarkable performance career. He currently holds his CSTD Modern Jazz Teachers Diploma and is a fully qualified personal trainer, ensuring a holistic understanding of dance and physical fitness. He immerses himself in workshops and classes, staying up-to-date on the latest trends and styles, especially in his passions for hip hop and musical theatre, which he constantly seeks inspiration for in the heart of New York.

Marc's commitment to quality dance education shines through his certification as a Progressing Ballet Technique teacher. This specialized training allows him to guide our students in perfecting their ballet skills and technique in innovative ways.

With his energetic and fresh approach, Marc's classes are a true delight for our students. He ignites their passion and helps them excel in all dance styles. Marc's expertise and dedication make him an invaluable asset to our Northside School of Dance family.

Sophie has been a student at Northside School of Dance since she was 3 years old. She loves to dance and share her love with her students. Sophie has completed her exams with excellent result and is currently focused on completing her jazz and tap teaching certificates.

Lauren commenced dancing over 20 years ago at the Carolyn Gilby Dance Centre. During this period her love of dancing and singing lead to her participating in dance concerts, eisteddfods, and overseas performances. Since 2018 she has brought a broad knowledge and versatility to the studio along with teaching experience in many different genres. Lauren’s qualifications include Teachers Certificates (CSTD Jazz, Tap, Theatrical & Performing Arts, and Classical Ballet) as well as Teachers Diplomas (CSTD Jazz and Theatrical & Performing Arts). She has also completed RAD Classical Ballet exams (Advanced 2 and Grade 8).

Esmée is a Brisbane-based contemporary choreographer and artist who holds an Advanced Diploma of Elite Performance from the Queensland College of Dance. She has graced many productions with her talent through Merge Dance Theatre, Connect Dance Ensemble, and the Royal Academy of Dancing. Recently, Esmée stepped into the role of choreographer for Merge Dance Theatre’s Junior Company. She’s excited to bring her creative spark her classes at Northside.

Training since the age of 3, Mia joined Flipside’s performance troupe when she was 11, specialising in tumbling and group acrobatics. Her recent performance We Live Here, won the Matilda Award for best physical theatre.

With an impressive 7 years coaching experience, Mia has consistently showcased her exceptional teaching talents, earning the admiration and gratitude from both students and colleagues alike.
